About Peter Holden

My background is photojournalism. I sold my first photograph to U.S. News & World Report in 1984. For four years I was the photo director at The World & I magazine, a publication of The Washington Times.

I photograph a wedding as I would a photo essay for a magazine. My style is a mix of photojournalism and loosely posed pictures. I like natural looking pictures where people are enjoying themselves. And I like to get in close to show real excitement and catch reactions to events. It’s really fun to shoot a wedding; but there’s no easy way to do it. It is hard work and requires concentration and the right equipment. I shoot with fast lenses and always bring backup equipment.

All the photos on this site are my work and when you book me for your event I am the photographer who will shoot your wedding. And I only book one wedding per day.
